ALEXANDRA EALA, a professional tennis player and a Rising Champion NOMINEE for the 2025 Tatler Front & Female Awards in the Philippines.

Alex Eala is currently holding a career-high WTA singles ranking of No. 56 as of June, which makes her the highest-ranked Filipina player in WTA history and the first to break into the top 100. She is also the first Filipino to defeat Grand Slam champions and multiple top-5 players. Additionally, she was the first Filipino to reach a tour-level final in the Open Era.

Alex started playing tennis at a young age, inspired by her family, including her older brother and her late grandfather, who was her first coach. She later trained at the Rafa Nadal Academy, which helped her hone her tennis skills.

She made history by winning the 2022 US Open girls’ singles title without dropping a set, becoming the first Filipino to win a junior Grand Slam singles title. She has also won junior doubles Grand Slam titles at the Australian Open and French Open.

In her professional career, she has shown steady progress, including a notable performance at the 2025 Miami Open, where she defeated top-seeded players and broke into the world’s top 120. She also made her Wimbledon singles debut in 2025 and reached the finals of the Eastbourne Open, demonstrating her growing potential on grass courts.
