Alex Eala teams up with Coco Gauff in Italian Open doubles

ALEX Eala is set to make her WTA 1000 doubles debut by teaming up with World No. 3 Coco Gauff at the 2025 Italian Open in Rome.
This marks the first time the 19-year-old Eala and the 21-year-old Gauff will share the court in a professional doubles event.
Gauff has twice finished as a doubles runner-up in Rome—teaming up with Jessica Pegula in 2023 and Erin Routliffe in 2024—and is still in search of her first doubles title at the tournament.
Gauff recently broke through on the Grand Slam stage in women’s doubles, capturing her first major title at the 2024 French Open.
On her end, Eala is no stranger to high-level doubles play, having won two Junior Grand Slam titles at the Australian Open and French Open in 2020 and 2021, respectively.
Eala and Gauff open their doubles campaign against Alexandra Panova and Fanny Stollar in the round of 32.
