LOOK: Alex Eala gets recognition from PH Ambassador to Spain

TENNIS rising star Alex Eala was honored in a lunch hosted by Philippine ambassador to Spain Philippe J. Lhuillier and wife Edna Lhuillier in Madrid over the weekend.

The world No. 72 received the Premios Tanglaw award — a special honor given by the Philippine Embassy to individuals who help strengthen the bonds between the Philippines and Spain.

The timing couldn’t be more perfect for the award. The trailblazing Filipina teenager had just competed in the Madrid Open, where she won one match before being ousted in the second round by defending champion Iga Swiatek.

The 19 years old has also been based in Mallorca since she was 13, training and studying at the famed Rafa Nadal Academy.
